Random stories

I have been meaning to write these down before I forget.

~We were at the play area at The Oaks Mall.
It's our go-to place.
But now that my Christmas and Birthday money has dwindled we might not be paying as many visits.
Anyways.
The play area is for small children and there is a big tree in the middle with a slide and big pretend animals all around for the kids to climb on.
It's SUPER clean and looks brand new.
Noah was off doing his thing and the babies were crawling around.
Emma crawled up to the elephant which was right in front of where I was sitting.
This little boy who was probably my guess 3 years old, but a young 3(as apposed to my 3 year old that's the size of a 7 year old and acts like a 13 year old) comes up to the elephant and is instantly annoyed that Emma is standing holding on to it.
He said "Baby get off my elephant!"
I sort of do a quick look around to see if I could spot his mother.
Then I look down and the little boy has pushed Emma off the elephant.
I swear before I could even stand up here comes Noah running at full speed and straight up body chucks this kid to the floor.
No exaggeration.
Then he stands up and says "Don't touch my baby!"
I sort of sat there not really sure if I should tell Noah it's not okay to body chuck people or tell him good job.....
Most of the parents were now looking at me at this point.
So I grabbed Emma and told Noah to come here.
I told him that it's always important to protect his siblings.
About two minutes later Emma was back on the elephant and this time Noah was not he floor next to her playing with Ryder when that little boy came back for more.
Once again he pushed Emma off.
At this point I was going to body chuck this kid.
But Noah looked at the little boy and looked at me with this look of "IS it okay if I take care of this kid?" and I just sort of gave him this "go for it son" look with my eyes(parent of the year right here) and Noah went up to Emma picked her up and gave her a hug and kiss and told her it was okay. Then he took the little boy over to the big Hippo and showed him how to slide down it.
I was so very very proud of him.
But I am not sure if I should have scolded him or not???
The boy was totally fine and went home with his nanny shortly after.

~On Tuesday(Jan 31) our friends Morgan and Justin stopped bye. Morgan and I were in the living room with the babies. She was holding up Emma when all of a sudden Emma let go and took about 5 steps! She has taken one or two since.

~I was at Morgans house and we were playing with the babies in her room. She put her hands up trying to get Emma to walk to her. She had her hands up like high fives. All of a sudden Ryder comes crawling at full speed saying "high five, high five, high five, high five" and got on his knees and gave her a high five. It was so stinking cute and he now says "high five!" all the time.

~I feel like I don't get to spend as much time with Natalie anymore since she is in school and has playmates and after school activities. But she just celebrated her 100th day of kindergarten and I just faxed in the paper work for her to get registered with a different school for first grade. I can't believe how big she is. She says the only thing she wants in the whole wide world is a dog.

~I took Noah and the babies to a show at The Oaks mall and it was supposed to be a woman with her blue oven mitt!?!? didn't sound particularly interesting to me but I thought the kids might like it. Well first off the show was supposed to start at 10:00am, well the performer was late and the show didn't start until 10:30. Which is like 6 hours in toddler time. Kids were crying and running around and it was just chaos. So the girl gets there and puts on her blue oven mitt and starts singing. Noah asked me why she had that thing on her hand. I was SO embarrassed for this girl. She then invited just three kids to the stage to help her look for treasure. About 15 kids ran up to the stage and she was trying to get them off and...it was a big fat mess. Noah was rolling around on the floor and crying acting like he was being tortured. The best part of the show was when she started singing about wearing your underwear on the outside of your pants and takes out a pair of granny panties and then a little boy grabbed them and was running all around with them. It was just a hot mess all around. After the "show" the woman in charge stood up and said she had three door prizes but didn't pass out tickets to anyone so she called out about 25 different birthdays to try and find someone to give these too. After about 10 minutes she finally asked if anyone had more than three kids...my hand went right up and I sent Noah up to collect or Visa gift card. It almost made sitting through a show with a girl dancing around stage singing off key waving around underwear and a blue oven mitt worth it :)
(I looked up Mr. Blue Oven Mitt when I got home and as it turns out the girl was NOT the "real" thing so we basically got an impostor)

~Noah took that visa gift card and we went upstairs to the toy store and the first thing he looked for was a horse to buy for Natalie...ahhhh :)
