Vons...

When I was on bed rest pregnant with the twins I would spend hours sitting there thinking about how I could manage to get out of the house with four small children. Well if you know me then you know that I haven't let the fact that I have so many small children stopped me from doing much of anything. I just bring them along.

So I completely understand my limits. Like for example if I am going to do a big shopping trip I can't bring the kids. I mean where do I put the food? So a few weeks ago I had a great Vons shopping trip planned but waited for Jed to get home. Now the really good Vons deals are only Fri-Sunday. So I go Friday evening along with every other person and their mother and sure enough all the really good sale items were cleared. Ugh. This was the second time this had happened to me. So I got my rainchecks.

So a few Fridays ago I decided to take along the kids and get to the store first thing in order to make sure I get there before those shelf clearers. I had never used the cart with the car before but I knew I could not only put Noah in but food items as well. Here is my little set up...

Emma and my coupon binder are on the top.

First off these car carts are like trying to push a flat tired stroller through tar.
At that early hour I was mostly shopping with the more mature retired crowd and they either loved me and wanted to see the kids are hated me...it seemed to be more the later.
It was probably because I driving that cart like I was drunk.
Seriously have you ever had to push one of these things?
And don't even get me started on the purell bath I had to give Noah when we were done.
I might have knocked over a few displays.
Maybe I was sweating just a bit.
I got me a whole lot of "are you crazy lady?" looks.
By the end there were so many groceries in the car with Noah that he we had to unload them all to even get him out.
And yes by the end Ryder was screaming done.
And yes we had to put all the bags in a separate cart for the bag boy to push out, not that I care that's his job, right.
But you know what? I took a $225.00 total down to $102.00 and my grocery list included a lot of meat, produce amongst other various items.
I mean this was a huge haul of groceries.
So when it was all said and done I was totally proud of myself!
And today I have another huge list ready to go and I proudly called a babysitter :)
I am ambitious but I ain't dumb.
